EDWARD cutting

This is where it all begins. Mechanical cutting is the new standard. Whether fruit wall or 2D: new modern
planting systems open up the possibility of using machines effi ciently. High yield, good coloration with
good quality but with signifi cantly reduced labor costs remain the goal. With Edward, several attachments
are available: Double blades, impact knives or circular saw blades, in various sizes, with automatic swinging
out and backward for hail net posts. Edward cutting provides the best basis for efficient Darwin flower
thinning and REDpulse defoliation.

Choose between double blades or rotating systems, both with extremely smooth-running
circular saw blades or durable impact knives. Optimize your mechanical cut by using a horizontal
cutting unit or an undercut.

DARWIN thinning

Darwin thinning is the best and cheapest method of fruit thinning. Unlike chemical processes, Darwin
thinning is adjustable and the result is immediately visible. Darwin is used early, usually before or around
the full fl ower. Such early thinning strengthens remaining fl owers (including frost resistance) by providing
a better supply of the remaining fruit. The costs for any additional chemical thinning and especially for
manual thinning are signifi cantly reduced, fruit caliber and fruit quality are improved.

REDpulse defoliating

The first step for good colored fruits is good early thinning, good light incidence for all fruits. This is not always sufficient, especially with red varieties. Then REDpulse defoliation comes into play. No other system
can boast such a high defoliation depth and such high efficiency. Our compressors are sophisticated and
robust and our patented (Ero) rotor system are the crucial components. REDpulse defoliation systems are available with 2 (Duo), 3 (Trio) or 4 (Quattro or Duo Twin) rotors.
